Well, our car was found yesterday. It had one more mile on the odometer than when we saw it last (the only reason I know this is because it is almost to 200,000 miles, and I really don't want to miss it when all those zeros turn. I've been keeping a close eye on it). When the police officer called me and told me the address of where it was found, I couldn't believe someone would really go through all the trouble of stealing a car, just to drive it a few blocks and hope there was something of value in it. Which, luckily, there wasn't. He (or maybe she... I don't want to be sexist here) took Joe's old iPod out of the glove box that no longer even works, and that was it. Even the car seat was still buckled in safe and sound. Thank you car thief! We were able to return the money people donated, return the gifted car that we were able to have for a few of days, and get our little car back safe and sound. And the first thing on the agenda: call our insurance company and get full coverage on it. It may only be worth about $2,000, but that's a good start if something happens to it when you have $0.
In other Rawlings news, Cohen had his 18 month checkup this week with his new pediatrician and he is now officially on the charts for height. 98th percentile, to be exact (he has always been well above the 100th percentile line). He also actually lost weight since his last checkup, and is now weighing in at 27.5 lbs. He hadn't felt well the few days before and had eaten next to nothing, so I knew he had lost weight even before we went in. Yesterday and today he has been making up for lost time, though, and eating everything in sight. He ate more than me for breakfast and dinner, and that's saying a lot. I'm 31 weeks pregnant and have the appetite of... well, me - pregnant. There's really nothing else to compare it to.
For his doctor's appointment I had a list of things I was concerned about that I wanted to talk to her about. His walk is fine, his bowels are fine, his speech is fine, his ears are fine, his hernia will still eventually go away, and he only has two more teeth that need to come in (which is a very good thing - a teething Cohen is a monster Cohen). I love my little guy and can't believe I only have a couple more months with just him and I before the little lady takes over.
[Weird... more pictures of Cohen. I bet you didn't see that one coming. (Running-through-the-sprinkler hair; my happy baby is finally back; and his answer to the question, 'what does a fish say?'.)]
