Adjusting

I thought it would take a while adjusting to having a newborn.  It took about 5 seconds, and it was as if she'd been here all along.  Then we took her home.  The hard part is adjusting to Cohen adjusting to the baby.  He tries giving her toys, food, movies, and even lobbed a juice box into her bassinet her first day home, offering it to her by yelling, "juice?".  It hit her smack in the face but she didn't seem to mind much.

There have been more fits, screaming, sleepless nights (oddly enough from Cohen, not the baby) and tantrums thrown than I thought possible, but I've never felt more content.  I feel so complete with our family of four home and healthy.

And fortunately Joe has the rest of the week off of work.  I couldn't be more relieved.  I told him to take two days off and I would be good.  Ummm, no.  We'll take as much time as we can get.

There has been a lack of picture-taking at our house as well.  My camera quit working a couple of weeks ago (of course right before our second child was born), and while it is getting fixed we have been using our trusty point and shoot.  I know no one would notice but me, but taking pictures just isn't the same without the camera you know and love.  Hopefully my beloved Canon will return soon and I can play catch-up by taking a bazillion pictures of little Elliot.

GShe's so tiny & squishy & cute! Man, I miss snuggling tiny babies. Good thing I've only got 6 weeks left! I'm hoping he'll b smaller than his big sis...but highly doubting it. :-) Enjoy her littleness!
