Ready(ish) For #3

We got to watch our little cousin today, and my kids were as excited as Christmas morning. They call her "Baby Camber" instead of just Camber, and they say it in a high-pitched baby voice every. single. time. When she first arrived, everyone was happy and all smiles. They got out toy after toy to hold two inches in front of her face to see "which one she liked the most". After about 10 minutes, Cohen and Elle started fighting about who's turn it was for Camber to look at. It went a little something like this:

Cohen: Mooooom! Baby Camber is looking at Elliot but I am holding her favorite toy!
Me: Okay, scoot back and take turns playing with her so she only has to look at one of you at a time.
Cohen: But, MOM! It's my turn for her to look at me but she keeps looking at Elliot!
(Camber then turns her attention to Cohen)
Elle: Moooom! Camber is looking at Cohen but it was my turn for her to look at me! (while saying "baby Caaaamber!" right in front of her face over and over again).
Cohen: Mom! Camber just said her first real word! "mah-gal"!
Elle: Mom! Camber just learned her second real word! "gomma"!
Cohen: Elliot, that's not a real word.
Elle: YEAH IT IS COHEN!!!

And the drama continued until Camber was crying for me to save her from the chaos that ensued three inches in front of her face.

Fortunately after a conversation about personal space, and eating some lunch, we found the peace again for a few minutes.

I'm due with baby #3 in early August, so today was a bit of a wake-up call for me. It was crazy and stressful, but my kids are SO ready to add another little human to their sibling tribe. It makes my heart so happy seeing them with Camber, and how much they want to just play with and entertain someone so much smaller than them. They both pat my belly throughout the day saying "hi baby!", and Cohen has to give it a little hug at night. Elliot thinks it's a girl, and Cohen thinks it's a boy. We're not going to find out the sex until the delivery. Can't wait to see the new dynamic of this little family of mine in 5 short months. Boy or girl, we're excited as can be.
